See below for the English version of this message

The very current and transversal terms resilience and agroecology rest their foundations on a primordial principle of balance between the human system and the environmental system.

With the passage of time, the changing needs and above all with the succession of innovations, this balance has become increasingly unstable, generating changes that have strongly altered the identity idea of the campaign.

In a context of real balance, innovation would have intersected nature, tradition and culture in its favor, helping to increase the benefits that this coordination generated for the territories and its people, without compromising its essence as unfortunately today too much it often happens.

The way in which each change is dealt with is the basis for reaching the expected result which at best is configured as an added improvement at a starting level left unchanged as a functional result until then.

In fact, resilience in agriculture today would represent, together with agroecology, the action of maximum prevention towards the environmental and food crises that are affecting our planet, also indirectly acting on the internal economies of individual territories thanks to a type of agriculture local and contextualized where the knowledge of the territory is the master and manages and regulates the various production processes with the care, love and dedication that only local actors are able to provide.

In this context, farmers, through previous and handed down knowledge, are able to become real custodians of agrobiodiversity, independent from the global market and able to experiment forms of sustainable agriculture both from an environmental and economic point of view, giving light to the territorial contexts of relevance and making them productive and able to generate value that is not only sustainable compared to community contributions.

Being able to face changes without losing one’s identity with the main objective of feeding people and with a responsible production aimed not only at profit in quantitative terms but also and above all by producing products that effectively contribute to the health of the person is true agricultural resilience. able to adapt to changes.

If technological innovations useful for the productive and sustainable improvement of agriculture were promptly added to a theoretical and practical basis of this type, a true agricultural system would be created capable of sustaining itself autonomously and improving itself day after day without losing its identity face but, in in line with the intrinsic sense of resilience, to improve and adapt to changes while maintaining balance and innovating with technology.

The concept of agricultural resilience is best expressed when adapting to changes does not preclude the balance between the human and territorial system, and takes full advantage of the technological innovations useful for generating a production system capable of feeding people and feeding them with raw materials. healthy and safe.

We learn from the newspapers and it is clear that Italy does not have a plan at this stage, but who should think about finding it? Who deeply knows the problems of the sector and has the right skills and vision to propose solutions?
